"The Young Laureate inspired me to continue consolidating my reading and writing skills, and to read and write more widely in areas of interest. I would recommend this competition to peers because the chance to study in the UK for two weeks was an experience of a lifetime. Being taught by Oxbridge professors and academics, I got exposure to concepts that are outside the confines of my school curriculum, and got a taste for what university lectures are like. The course allowed me to develop my critical thinking skills, and the mock interviews were very useful for me in understanding the types of questions that will be asked.  "

"This competition motivated me to write more to improve my skills and take advantage of the innate potential that I realised had. The Lawrenceville Summer Scholars program drastically improved my writing skills and my efficiency with planning and writing pieces in a variety of genres. The program fostered my interest in computer programming and gave me further insight into the subject. I enjoyed being among like-minded individuals and teachers that consistently tried to push the boundaries of my comfort zone. "
Harshul Singh
Winner of the intermediate level, The Young Laureate Award
"[Joining the summer program at Lawrenceville School in the US] was a memorable lifetime experience for Harshul. He found the program enriching and inspiring. I think it helped to nurture his interest in computer coding and blossomed his interest and confidence in creative writing. Harshul has always been a keen reader and enjoys writing. The competition made him realize that he can hone this skill further and test his limits.  "
