Our Team

Tarek attended Samuel Ward Academy, a public Sixth Form College in Haverhill, England. Finishing top of his class he got accepted into Durham University, ranked in the top 50 Universities worldwide. He graduated in 2021 with a Master’s degree in Mathematics, after which he decided to move to Hong Kong to pursue a job in the education sector.

Tarek’s passion for teaching others began when he was helping his peers during GCSEs, where he would offer private tuition for students in his grade or below. Tarek continued educating students while studying for his A-levels in the UK, when he provided Mathematics lessons for disadvantaged GCSE students. This passion for education continued into his time studying for an undergraduate and postgraduate degree in Mathematics at Durham University; Tarek was a ‘Fresher’s Representative’ who helped newly-enrolled University students get accustomed to their new lives in higher education. Recently, Tarek worked as a teacher at St. Paul's Co-Educational College Primary School in Wong Chuk Hang, where he designed lesson material and taught students aged 6-15.

At ARCH, Tarek is an enrichment instructor focusing on teaching Mathematics at any level below University.

Outside of the classroom, Tarek enjoys doing sports such as various martial arts (especially taekwondo and kung fu), bouldering, and roller skating. He has been playing the saxophone since the age of 10 and has been part of big bands in both his German and British schools. Tarek also loves languages, being natively fluent in German, English, and Turkish, and is currently studying to improve his Cantonese. In his downtime, he watches movies with his housemates, and used this passion for film to establish his University college’s first Film Society.
